What are the positives and negatives of a hybrid a car?
~expecting #2~
I have been involved in a lot of environmental work sinced I educated myself with global warming. I own a car, but it’s a truck. I really want to get rid of it and trade it in for a hybrid car. I heard that hybrid cars don’t have the best life span and also more expensive to maintain (to fix), and the battery cost a lot if it dies. Could someone please tell me more information about hybrid cars?

Hybrids:
Pros: more fuel efficient for the average driver, mosty noticable around town (usually).
Cons: More weight and complication (and costs) than a standard Gas car or an Electric only car since it has components of each.
Lifespan is just fine, current batteries are designed to last the life of the car.

they suck. their slow, quiet, ugly, an very uncustomizable. any car not run on gas should be illegal. im all for helping the environment (although i dont believe in global warming), but dont do it through our cars. do it through factories or planes or sumthin else that dont effect us.

i Will not buy a Hybrid because the techology still in its infant stage, I don’t want my investment to be obselete any time soon.Secondly instead of a hybrid I have invested in a very fuel efficient, ultra low emmision Honda Civic with top resale value, But don’t forget to check out other models too like Chevy Colbalt etc.

Hybrids provide a bridge from unrenewable fuel sources to renewable ones. The electric portion of the vehicle is actually the least maintenance, as fully electric cars have ultra high reliability (FAR less moving parts).
